Jerry Welch graduated from DeVry Technical Institute,
Chicago, Illinois, in 1962, after obtaining a degree from William H. Miner
Institute in Chazy, New York. He spent 21 years with the Hammond Organ Company.
Joining the famous musical instrument manufacturer in 1965, he worked in
production repair for 2 years until moving into the production engineering area.
Here he was involved in the training of technical service personnel and provided
liaison between engineering and the technical production areas. He advanced into
the field service department where he spent 3 years on the road as Field Service
Manager. Conducting service seminars for dealer and independent service techs,
Jerry formed and maintained technical relationships with personnel across the
country. Returning to the factory, he headed up the activities of the company
service training program along with overseeing the technical manual production
and publication. For the last several years of company operation, he served the
Hammond Organ Company in the position of Director of Product Services.
After the company ceased operations in 1985, Jerry took on the responsibility of General Manager for the new Organ Service Company. He was later President of the Marlok Company, a computerized access control company, in addition to continuing the leadership of the Organ Service Company activities. In 1993, he purchased the Organ Service Company and incorporated it the same year. He and Patricia, his wife for over 45 years, continue to work together in the operation of the Organ Service Company, Inc. He plans to provide the parts service and technical publication information business as long as parts and back-up materials are available. He enjoys and maintains the many personal and business relationships he has established and developed over the 45 years he has been in the Hammond Organ business.
